If there was some partisan advantage to be had by a genuinely probing Royal Commission, then it would be of value but federal Labor spent the pandemic positioning itself to be more pro-lockdown and masky than the Coalition, so they would have nothing to gain politically from a proper enquiry. Plus, they have to protect state Labor governments (in Victoria, WA, Qld and the NT) which were the worst Covid offenders.

The credentialed clowns only once mention the pandemic preparedness plan that Australia had and they dismiss it as suitable only for influenza-type viruses and that it was not 'scenario-tested' and therefore had to be scrapped in an almighty hurry 'in the face of an actual pandemic'.
