Compliance with the narrative makes you a nice person: intelligent, moral and humane. Any objection or failure to comply makes you less than human: ignorant, immoral and inhumane … a horrible person, a racist, a bigot, a homophobe, a deplorable, etc.

Maybe our hope lies with the people in between, those who went along to get along, but who don't totally buy the lies. I have a couple of friends in this camp, and I'm grateful for their continued friendship with me, despite my being an unclean plague rat. Because they complied, at least at first, they don't have any of the outrage that so consumed me during those years. But at least they're willing to accept some of what I'm saying about the lies from government and media, the harm caused by the shots and masks, etc.

Like you, I've been completely dismayed by the 180 degree turn of the so-called 'left'. As I learn more and more from James Lindsay about all the bastard children of Marxism - critical race theory, queer theory, feminism, postcolonial theory, fat studies and the other motley manifestations of the Frankfurt school - it's started to make more sense to me. The elitist proponents of Marxism gave up on the working class as agents of revolution because - to the complete disgust of the champagne lefties - it turned out that the working class didn't want a socialist revolution, they just wanted decent lives. Once unionisation, OH&S legislation and other labour reforms ensured that ordinary working people could earn a living wage without risking life and limb, they set about acquiring property and doing all they could to ensure their children could ascend the class ladder. So the elitists needed to cultivate new agents of revolutionary change by extending Marxist notions of class consciousness into other groups, such as blacks, women, and homosexual people. These adherents of neomarxism despise the working class, as you correctly identified, because the latter don't share their desire to upend every societal structure and attempt to create a new order out of the ensuing chaos.
When the presstitutes all recite their mantra, "This is extremely dangerous to our democracy", the silent emphasis is on the word "our". Only the protected and favoured classes are welcome in the neomarxists' utopia, and that sure as hell doesn't include the 'old' working class.
This perfectly encapsulates a friend I once had. My curiosity and refusal of slogans makes me a Trump loving, science denying, racist, sexist, Putin loving antivaxer. There's simply no way to present valid points or show doubt. It is all burned black with the torch of NNP. It's pretty weird to witness and it does lead one to wonder what kind of spell they are under? Why this new doctrine must be embraced, why nothing can penetrate the thick stupidity is fascinating to me. Why all nuance and knowledge of history must be abandoned by the faithful disturbs me. It reminds me of Mao's Cultural Revolution. Fortunately they can't meme, have not an ounce of humour and their own refusal to pay attention to reality always makes me chuckle. But there's something very sinister going on - the NNP is mean and violently antihuman. They tried to kill me over Covid and my previous friend would not hesitate to report me to the thought police for wrongthink. Scary times.
